Kids Floor Pillows - Give Them Something Fun
It's usually not long before your child is independent and wants his own space. Setting up his or her room can be a challenge, because the child may not really be ready for a lot of furniture, but they want some and independence. A great way to get them started with that is to provide them with some floor pillows. For pillows are great for them because they're virtually indestructible and the're inexpensive. The outer covers can be machine washed, and they are not very expensive to provide. Kids pillows, and a number of shapes and sizes and colors. When we went to look for these pillows at the store, the smaller size which I would guess is about 24" x 24" and about 6 to 8 inches thick seemed like the perfect size. Most of these cushions were available in several basic colors which would be easy to match any existing room decor. The ones I looked at had a cotton poly blend outer cover which was removable and was a stain resistant polyurethane coding on the inside pocket and the cover was removable using a zipper. For safety's sake, I like the fact that the filling was a shredded fire retardant virgin foam. We also saw pretty interesting round floor pillows. These pillows were approximately 26 inches round by 5 inches high. But what was really cool about these pillows, was that they came with different designs on them, pictures like birds, Owls, elephants, squirrels, snails and airplanes and trucks. Really cool designs that kids would love. Don't discount the possibility of getting your child a personalized floor pillow. There are many companies out there including some on the Internet where they take a standard pillow and can make a personalized embroidered picture with your child's name on the pillow, making that pillow a lot more special. Another possibility is to make the pillows yourself. It's not very costly, doesn't take a lot of time, and it's easy to find patterns and instructions at your local sewing store or over the Internet. Kids floor pillows are inexpensive and a lot of fun. Kids love this set on the floor so why not let them by providing them with a fun pillow. Just be sure to buy pillows that are of sturdy construction because you can bet your child will be jumping up and down on the pillows and you don't want seams splitting and filler spilling everywhere. |
