When creating a new look for our living room, we did all the things one would normally do-we started with color, added textures and various surfaces-wood, metal. We painted the ceilings, walls and trim a multi color scheme that would make our furniture pop. We added drapes and made sure the colors for the drapes enhanced (or at least didn't clash) with the color design of the room. So what to add next? Some matching sofa pillows. Prices can range from $20 or $30 to $100 so it pays to do some comparison shopping. It's a good idea to consider your room use when selecting pillows. Luxury or silk pillows can be expensive and if the room will be used by children often, it might pay to buy a more rugged fabric. Also consider pillow covers that can be unzipped removed from the filling and cleaned. Also make sure that your curtains and drapes will protect your room from sunlight, which has a way of prematurely aging any room. That way your new room design will last for many years to come. |
